Winter Wear Designs Tidewater Tee

I absolutely love the newest pattern from Winter Wear Designs. The Tidewater Tee is a great summer top that's a pretty quick sew with some unique features and I can make one with just 1 yard of fabric! It goes together so quick that I made 3 of them in no time at all.

This is the tulip sleeve version made with a cotton lycra. This print is from La Fabrica Shop Custom Fabric by Nina Zabal.

The print on the front and the back yoke is Amma Garden and the Sleeves and lower back are Amma Posey.

I love the cut out in the back.

This version I made in bamboo lycra from Snowy Owl Customs. This one has the plain sleeves.

The back yoke is a brushed poly.  I love the bit of added color.

I love medical stuff and these anatomical hearts are really cool.

I made this one in a rayon spandex tie dye from Sincerely Rylee. I got it in a mystery box. Not sure if it was a light mystery box or dark mystery box - but I recommend buying one of these because what I got was awesome!

This one has the tulip sleeves. I love them just because they are different.

I love how the Tidewater Tee looks when made with a drapey knit like bamboo or rayon, but it also looks great in a lightweight cotton lycra. I have a few hacks planned for the Tidewater Tee. Wholesale Sewing Supplies Galaxy Round

You all probably already know that I'm a bit of an astronomy geek. I absolutely love Hubble telescope images and when they get printed on fabric - well, I HAVE to have it!

The new round at Wholesale Sewing Supplies is the Galaxy Round and all the images are from the Hubble Telescope. Some have an added twist - one has lamas and another have a coffee design on it. The preorder is open through July 3rd. Order on the google form on the FaceBook Page.

I was sent the Southern Plane of The Milky Ways. It is gorgeous!

I made the Halla Agnes top version.

I used a Pink & Purple Space dyed athletic knit for the bands. It was a perfect match. I have leggings made with this and had intentions of wearing them together - but couldn't find them when I was doing my photos.

The colors in this print are beautiful.

I was using scraps of the athletic knit and did not have a long enough strip for the neckband, So I cut it in two pieces and made them overlap at the shoulder seams. I think I may make all my Agnes tops this way.

Little Roots Fabrics Rough & Tough Round

Little Roots Fabric has a new round open that is geared towards boys named  "Rough & Tough". But there's really no reason that a girl can't wear it too.

This paratrooper print is so cool and I knew immediately that I wanted to make a henley style top.

Then I decided to sexy it up a bit since I had just bought this cute olive green bralette at Victoria's Secret.

This is the Riviera Raglan from New Horizons Designs.

I love that it has 2 options for the raglan sleeves - a standard sleeve cut line and a "high" cut version. I did the "high" version and look the unique look.

I'm still debating if I want to add button to the henley placket or not. The Paratrooper print is very cool and has some subtle details in the parachutes.I really love it paired with this charcoal grey.

But - it was fun to pull down my shoulders for a sexier look.

Jaded Threads Shoppe Dragon Round

Jaded Threads Shoppe has a new round of prints open at preorder through July 2. It's the Dragon Round. And while I'm probably a bit too old to be wearing dragons, the coordinates for this round were right up my alley.

This round is available on cotton lycra, bamboo lycra, and 100% 2-way stretch poly. I tried the bamboo lycra and it's divine!

I was sent the Blue Watercolor Bamboo to sew. I decided to make the A Sparkly Baby Renni Dress.

The bamboo lycra is so soft and has great drape making it perfect for this dress.

The blue water color is gorgeous and so hard to capture in photos.

It reminds me of the caribbean sea and will definitely find it's way into my luggage for my next cruise.

I tried to get a photo of the dress not on me to show the beautiful colors better.

New Horizons Portlander Shorts!

The New Horizon Portlander Pants are a great basic knit pant and they are now even better with an added shorts version.

If you already own the pattern, just download it again to get the updated files. The pattern is on sale for $7 and the sale ends 06/17.

I made a pair with some Tencel fabric I bought at the Dallas Fabric District.

These are so soft and comfortable.

These are a bit shorter than what I would normally wear, but adding length is really easy.

Grab them on sale if you can even if you don't like shorts, the pants are a great addition to any wardrobe.

George & Ginger Picnic Dress

I love George & Ginger patterns - they are so unique and fit great. I was thrilled when I was chosen to become a pattern tester for them.

This is my first pattern test for them! It's the Picnic Dress. It's part of the staples collection and will only be $5. BUT - for one day only - June 16th - it will be $4!

I made this one in french terry.

I really love the gathers at the back and front. I hate showing my legs - so I'll be wearing this with leggings.

I made my first one in this gorgeous liverpool (aka - double knit). It's a little shorter and will definitely need leggings under it too.

 I've grown very fond of maxi dresses this year and could not resist the temptation to make a maxi length version of the picnic dress. THIS IS NOT IN THE PATTERN. And I have to admit - I LOVE it!

Fabric is from Pink Zeppelin Fabrics and is currently at preorder. The bodice is cotton lycra and the skirt is a baby rib knit from my stash.

Green is my favorite color and I do love snakes - we have a ball python names Maya.

I'll be wearing the heck out of this and will definitely make a few more in maxi length for the summer.

I was a bit unsure what I was going to make when this snake scale print showed up at my house. And after thinking about it a while - I was struck with inspiration.

I recently tested a pattern for George & Ginger and knew it would be perfect!

This dress is a modified version of a pattern that will be released on Friday - June 16th.

I love the shape of the bodice.

The gathers in the skirt help minimize my hips.

I feel so elegant in this dress - like a snake princess.

Where's my crown?

This preorder has something for everyone, boys will love the reptilian prints and girls will love the mermaid like scales.

K's Closet Fabrics and More

K's Closet is a women's boutique in Hillsborough, North Carolina Owned by Sharyn Arai. She orders custom designs for her boutique and offers the fabric for sale as well.


Sharyn currently has a set of prints at preorder that are geared towards women to do some selfish sewing. These designs are being offered on cotton lycra and a brushed poly base.


I was sent a sample of the Clementine print on brushed poly. The brushed poly is nice and thick with a plush nap. It has excellent stretch and would be perfect for leggings and works well for other apparel as well.


The Clementine design has a mixture of bright autumn tones with rich fall colors. I decided to pair the print with some scraps of faux leather knit to make the Love Notions Margot Peplum.

The hexagons in this print are fun with some having a design on them.

I really love the pops of the orange and mustard colors.

This print pairs well with my jeans and amber jewelry.

Itch to Stitch Beausoleil Top & Dress

Kennis Wong of Itch to Stitch makes amazing patterns that are always on trend, have fantastic instructions, and are perfectly drafted. The Beausoleil top & dress features the very trendy "cold shoulder" feature that's very popular now but in a stylish woven top or dress.

The Beausoleil Top & Dress is on sale for $9.60.

I chose to make the top and absolutely love it! This is going to be a great top to wear this summer that can be dressed up with slacks or a skirt, or made casual with jeans or capri pants.

I made two versions of the Beausoleil. My first one I made with some vintage cotton woven that I've had in my stash for several years. I actually got this fabric from my Grandmother one day.

It's a Schwartz Liebman Textile - and I just love the colors. Green is my favorite color! A little scientific fact for you - the human eye can see more shades or variations of green than any other color. After green, blue has the most.

My second version is made in a Joel Dewberry Freespirit Cotton Voile.

I'm a sucker for paisley prints and this one is so unique and has fun colors.

I feel so summery in this version. I love it with the white pants.

I made a few adjustments to the pattern to fit me. I removed 1" from the bodice length (I am only 5' after all) and I did a swayback adjustment so the top would lay nice and flat on my back.

I always learn a new trick from Kennis with each pattern I test for her. This time, I learned how to hand crochet thread and make a bra strap holder. I'm hoping to get a video of me doing the hand crocheting soon - it's so much easier than it sounds.
