I'm ending the year with one last blog post. It's one I intended to post earlier, but never sat down to do it. My son graduation from college this month and he lives at home. He's looking for a job and I do hope he finds one in the area and will continue to live at home for awhile so he can save up some money before setting out on his own. It makes my heart happy that he is here and that he still allows his momma to make him things. Although he will only wear pajamas and underwear that I make him these days. As I did laundry a while back, I noticed that many of his pajamas were starting to look a bit worn and pilly. I set out to make him some new ones before the end of the year. I wrapped them and jokingly gave them to him on Christmas.
This is a pajama top I made with fabric from Zenith & Quasar. It is a physics print. I made my son pajamas in this fabric back around 2015 or 2016. He loved them and took them with us on a cruise over Thanksgiving in 2017. He forgot his pajamas on the cruise ship and they were never seen again. He was heartbroken. So when the fabric was offered again, I order a few yards and made him the pajama bottoms right away. I never got around to making the matching top, so I made it a priority this time. Now he has a complete set.
As I was cutting items out - I cut everything out before I started to sew - I came across many remnants and scrap pieces in my stash. These were cut into boxer briefs. This is a apir made with a cosmic craters print from Zenith & Quasar.
My son received his degree in computer science. So over the years I collected many computer themed prints. He also has a love for astronomy - so I collected lots of space themed prints as well. This pajama top was made with a binary code print from Wanderlust Fabrics. I made matching solid blue pajama bottoms to go with it. They were not photographed.

This one is made with Hello World fabric from Zenith & Quasar. It has the computer code to display the text "Hello World" in a dozen different computer programming languages.
This top matches bottoms that I made a while back. This is a circuit print from Zenith & Quasar. I had enough left over after the top to make matching undies.
This is the only set that I photographed the whole set. I took this photo and decided it was a big pain trying to fit the pants in the photo. These fabrics are also from Zenith & Quasar.
This final top also matches a pair of pajama bottoms I made a while back. Yes that seemed to happen a lot and I have no idea why! I found the green circuits in my remnant bin. All these fabrics are from Zenith & Quasar.
What is not pictured are the 4 pairs of pajama bottoms I made. 3 pairs are blue (each a different shade) and one pair was black. The black pair was made with Repreve fabric that is made from recycled plastic bottles. I bought several yards of it and after I make myself something with it, I'll share my thoughts on the fabric. By then, I should see how well it holds up to use by my son.
My plan for the coming year is to slow down a bit on sewing, so my blog posts will be at a much slower pace. I said I was going to slow down in 2019, but that didn't happen. My plan is to try some patterns that have been sitting in my collection untouched. I also hope to get around to doing some hand and machine embroidery on some makes. I also want to try some Alabama Chanin style reverse/negative applique. I also intend to wear how to knit! So stay tuned to see what I am able to accomplish.
