It is a complete coincidence that I am posting about the George + Ginger sale today. I made this Mix It Up Dress before I even knew of the 4 year anniversary sale happening this week. Today (12/2) all dress patterns are 40% off!
I love to party and helped plan this years festivities at work . We will be celebrating for 13 days at my work with a different event each day. We are kicking things off today (12/03) with a Candy Cane Kickoff. Everyone is to wear red & white and there is a kick off breakfast with Chick-fil-a goodies.
I bought this red, white, and green yard dyed stripe from Made Whimsy. This stripe is so soft and has great 4-way stretch. I bought these stripes as soon as I learned of the Candy Cane Kickoff.
Not only is December 3 our Candy Cane Kickoff, but it's also the day of our Regional Awards Ceremony. I will be getting an award. So I wanted to wear something festive, yet cute. I decided that the Mix It Up Dress was the perfect thing to make with these stripes.
I made the hi-lo tunic long version with a full back and 3/4 length sleeves. I hacked the front bodice to have a scoop neck and added a neckband. The pattern calls for the bodice to be lined, but I was feeling a bit lazy. I also did a rolled hem on my skirt. I love the twirl factor of the full circle skirt.
I will have so many opportunities to wear my Candy Cane Mix It Up this month and so excited to have a new Holiday themed top for work.
All Dress patterns are on sale for TODAY only at George + Ginger. The Mix It Up has endless options and should be on your list to buy. There is a new sale every day this week to celebrate G+G's 4 year anniversary.
