Ellie & Mac Petal Top

It's Wacky Wednesday at Ellie & Mac. This week I made the Petal Top. The Petal Top features crossover "petals" in the front that cover an attached front piece. The front underlayer is made to be nursing friendly.

Since I am not a nursing mother, I made my underlayer a full piece  as I did not need the nursing access. To do this, I used the petal piece as my guide to draw the neckline, shoulder, and top of the armscye onto the underlayer pattern piece.

The back is plain. I removed 1.5" from the length for my height which makes the top end right at my hips.

I really love the Petal Top and will definitely be making more. I used a poly jersey in a paisley print that had me longing for fall.

I made the 3/4 length sleeve version as I find it best for our mild fall weather in Texas.

I was worried the petal feature might emphasize my belly, but it actually is a very flattering silhouette.

Can someone please tell Mother Nature that Summer is officially over? Please.

The Wacky Wednesday Sale has 5 other great patterns all available for only $1 each. Check them all out HERE!
