Wardrobe by Me- Piper Boho Tunic Pattern Test

This was my second time pattern testing for Christina Albeck of Wardrobe by Me. You can find her patterns on Craftsy and Etsy. Follow her facebook page www.facebook.com/wardrobebyme. This pattern will be available August 7th. Buy it here - Piper Boho Tunic.
The pattern is on sale for the first week for only $5.99 (regular price is still great at $7.99). Use coupon code "Piper".

Last time I tested the Savannah top and loved it - you can read about it here.

This time I tested the Piper Boho Tunic. I think I love this one even more. I love a great tunic and this pattern was easy and gives a great finished product.

The fabric I used for this top I purchased at Wherehouse Fabric in the Dallas Fabric District recently. It was $6/yard and is a lightweight cotton. They had it in 2 different color palettes and I bought both.

Here are all my pieces cut out.

The first step was to apply fusible interfacing to the facing pieces.

Then cut the slit in the neck facing.

Then it was time to sew the darts into the front bodice. I used a disappearing ink pen to mark the darts.

Next I sewed the dart and ironed the fabric up.

Then it was time to sew the back and front together at the shoulder.

Then iron the seam towards the back.

Now it was time to sew the facing pieces together at the shoulder seams.

Then pinned it to the top. I have to say - I did a good job matching the prints.

Now to sew around the neckline.

Then clip the slit in the top and turn the facing to the inside. And iron it down all the way around really good.

The next step was to stitch the back facing near the edge and also sew acrodd the shoulder seam "in the ditch".

Now it was time to add the sleeves.

Then sew the side seams.

I hemmed the top and I was done. I did not hem my sleeves. I cut my sleeves so that the selvage edge was the bottom of my sleeves. If it starts to look ratty, I'll hem them, but I kinda like the look of them raw.

Here I am in the finished top.

I think I'll make a few more.
