The
Sew Big Fabrics Fruit Splash Round is full of fun fruit themed prints. All prints are available on a variety of bases. My favorite base is the Bamboo Lycra. When I saw the
Monochrome Pineapple Purple Gradient print, I knew I needed to make a maxi dress with it.
I may not wear many dresses, but I do love a maxi dress. They are so comfortable to wear and they keep my legs hidden.
I used the leaf bodice and full back from the
George + Ginger Mix It Up Dress for my maxi dress. I love bamboo lycra, but bamboo does not have the best recovery so I lined my bodice with athletic brushed poly. This will help prevent the bodice from sagging as I wear it over the course of the day.
I then just added a gathered skirt to it that was the appropriate length for my height.
This
Pineapple Print is so fun and tropical. It makes me want to go on a beach vacation ASAP. The Bamboo fabric will help keep me cool no matter how hot & humid it is. Perfect for the beach.

Pineapple print. The pineapples are done in a geometric design and look so cool on top of the purple gradient.
I really love the leaf bodice, but do find that it is a little low cut on me.
