Sew Big Fabrics Mish-Mash Fantasy Stash

Sew Big Fabrics just opened the Mish Mash Fantasy Stash Round. It's full of fun prints for Halloween or really any day. I for one am absolutely in love with the moon phase border prints and the all over print. I was sent a yard of the moon phase double border print on bamboo lycra and a fat half of jet black sparkles on cotton lycra.

I knew these would go great together. And just had to make a peplum top.

I'm a huge Astronomy nerd and moon phase designs always get my attention. The jet black sparkles could go with just about anything and would look amazing all on their own too.

The bamboo lycra has such great drape and the cotton lycra is nice and thick.

Since I only used the border portion of my yard of the moon phase double border print, I just had to use the rest of the yard which is a gorgeous purple galaxy like design with stars.

The purple color in the design match the Grape Purple Tactel from Zenith & Quasar.

I was also sent a fat half of the Bloody Snakeskin. The sample I sewed was printed at the wrong scale.

Here's a photo to show the correct scale.

Sew Big Fabrics - A Round Has no Name

Sew Big Fabrics has a Game of Thrones themed Round called A round has no name. I have no clue what that means, so if you are GoT fan, please clue me in. Even though I have never watched a GoT episode, there were still some fun prints for me to sew.

The front panel of my shirt is the Dark Skies print. I only received a small piece so the cool print of the sky filled with dark clouds is hard to see in this piece.

The cotton lycra does not have much drape so my Love Notions Tidal Tank sticks away from my body a bit. But I love how comfortable it is. I'm loving it with my George + Ginger Zappa Pants that I made with supplex from Zenith & Quasar.

I used the Large Scale Raven Border print for the back of my top. The largest Raven's wing are so wide! I didn't want to clip its wings, so I picked this pattern since the back piece wraps around to the front.

The Raven Border print has the Dark Skies print as the background.

This is my trying to show that the wing goes under my arm and to the front.  I received the large scale border print and it also comes in a smaller scale.

And here again. I thought I'd hold my shirt out in a way so you can see all the cool ravens along the border.

Instead, I just look really awkward.

I had enough of the Raven Border print to make my son boxer briefs with the scraps. I was able to place a Raven on the front piece.

The rest just has the Dark Skies print from the panel background. You can see the variations in the colors of the clouds  on the back seam.

When I saw the Faux Fur the thought of making my son underwear with it cracked me up. So I was glad to get a piece just big enough for boxer briefs. These crack me up! It comes in brown and gray.

He will even have a hairy butt in them. hahahahaha

Here's a look at all the prints available in the A Round Has No Name. There are even some blanket toppers! Preorder closes on 06/02! Order HERE!

Sew Big Fabrics Fruit Splash!

The Sew Big Fabrics Fruit Splash Round is full of fun fruit themed prints. All prints are available on a variety of bases. My favorite base is the Bamboo Lycra. When I saw the Monochrome Pineapple Purple Gradient print, I knew I needed to make a maxi dress with it.

I may not wear many dresses, but I do love a maxi dress. They are so comfortable to wear and they keep my legs hidden.

I used the leaf bodice and full back from the George + Ginger Mix It Up Dress for my maxi dress. I love bamboo lycra, but bamboo does not have the best recovery so I lined my bodice with athletic brushed poly. This will help prevent the bodice from sagging as I wear it over the course of the day.

I then just added a gathered skirt to it that was the appropriate length for my height.

This Pineapple Print is so fun and tropical. It makes me want to go on a beach vacation ASAP. The Bamboo fabric will help keep me cool no matter how hot & humid it is. Perfect for the beach.

Here's a closer look at the Pineapple print. The pineapples are done in a geometric design and look so cool on top of the purple gradient.

I really love the leaf bodice, but do find that it is a little low cut on me.

The Fruit Splash Round is open through May 6th. Here's a look at a few of the other fun prints at preorder.

Sew Big Fabrics Florals of the Zodiac

I just love the Florals of the Zodiac Round at Sew Big Fabrics! The flowers of each zodiac sign are beautifully designed on a striped background. Each floral stripe comes in two color variations. In addition, there is a panel displaying the zodiac sign and it's flower.

I was sent three prints to sew up.  This one is Cancer. The flower for Cancer is the Iris.

This is the Golden Beige Stripe and Panel.

This is the cotton lycra and it's a great weight and the white is not sheer.

The Iris flowers are beautiful. The details are gorgeous.

My birthday puts me under the sign of Taurus. I never knew it, but the flower for Taurus is the rose.

This rose floral stripe on black is gorgeous! Especially on this black stripe, it's so striking!

This print is so over the top girly that I knew I needed a feminine pattern for it.

This is the brushed poly and it has such great drape that I wanted to show off. I picked the Ellie & Mac Women's Breezy Dress pattern and made the peplum length.

The bodice of the Women's Breezy Dress is lined and I lined mine with white athletic brushed poly.

I was able to get the Women's Breezy Dress peplum out of 1 yard of fabric - minus the lining.

Last is Aquarius. Aquarius has orchids as it's flower. My dear friend Sharon (Sweet Mama Life) has a birthday coming up and she so happens to be an Aquarius. I made this 5 out of 4 Mabel Tunic for her. She has no idea I made this for her.

The Orchid Stripe on Black is my favorite.  I love orchids and keep several in my bathroom. I have a little bit of this stripe left and plan to make myself a little something with it.

The details in the orchids is just gorgeous! I also can't get over these vibrant colors.

This Mabel Tunic is all brushed poly. I was concerned that the white background of the Aquarius panel might be a bit sheer and decided to make the bodice lined.

I hope Sharon loves her new Mabel Tunic. She listed it as one of her favorite makes from 2018, so I felt confident making her one. I was thankful that her blog post for the Mabel Tunic gave me all the adjustments that she made to get the perfect fit.

The Florals of the Zodiac preorder closes on February 15th. Below is a graphic showing all the panels. Be sure to check out the coordinating stripes - they are all so beautiful!

Sew Big Fabrics ASL ILY

The current preorder at Sew Big Fabrics is really cool and it supports a great organization that supports and offers education, services, and advocacy to members of the Deaf community. The round is ASL ILY - American Sign Language I Love You. There are panels featuring various ASL signs with beautiful coordinates that can also stand alone. $2 of each yard sold will be donated to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Service Center Inc. The preorder is open from October 15 - 29. All panels and coordinates are offered on cotton lycra, double brushed poly, french terry, cotton woven, and minky.

I was so excited for the print and panel that I received.

These are the Pink/Purple Gradient Geo Stripes. From the get go, I knew I wanted to make another Duck Butt Designs Back to Fall Hoodie - but this time with a large cowl.

These Pink/Purple Gradient Geo Stripes are on cotton lycra and they happened to perfectly match the Purple Cactus Flower Tactel from Zenith & Quasar.

The Adult panel I received was the Butterfly on Light. This panel and the Pink/Purple Gradient Geo Stripes also come on a dark background.

The Adult panels are 30" wide by 38" tall. It was perfect for the back of my BTF.

Here's a bigger photo of the beautiful design. It shows hands making the ASL sign for butterfly with a butterfly over the hands.

Here's a look at the other panel designs and coordinates.

This round is full of beautiful prints that can go with so many solids and would make great coordinates for other prints. I love that buying from this round also benefits members of the Deaf community. Shop all the designs HERE.
