I made the Ellie & Mac I love the 90's dress a few months ago for a blog post on the Ellie & Mac blog. I'm not a fan of dresses and really wanted to make a tunic or top version. The dress fit me like a long tunic, but I felt the proportions were off on me. Dress version on me below.
For this version, I did make a few adjustments for my height. I removed 1 inch from the bodice at the very bottom. Basically, I did not want to lose length in the main part of the bodice, but I needed the side seams to come up just a little bit and to remove length from the back piece as the back was too long for me when using the back with the downward curve.
I also shortened the skirt so that the side eams on the skirt were 14.75" long before hemming. After seeing these photos, I'm tempted to take another 2" off the length of my next one for more of a top length. This length is what I prefer for tunics to be worn with leggings.
But it still looks pretty darn cute with my skinny jeans.
I really love the fitted and lined bodice of the I love the 90's dress.
The fabric I used is Evergreen Double Brushed Poly generously provided by Sly Fox Fabrics.
All patterns are currently 40% for the month of January at Ellie & Mac!
