Blossom and Grow Blog Hop

Today is day six in the Blossom and Grow Blog Hop hosted by Maureen Fiorellini for the release of her Blossom and Grow Collection by Studio e Fabrics.

I received a bundle of fat quarters and a panel with small panels, I immediately thought the panels would be really cute as the center of some churn and dash blocks. Since I had fat quarter to work with, I made them scrappy.

I made nine of the scrappy churn and dash blocks at 18 inches. I then made them  into a quilt top. This is the perfect size for a baby quilt or a lap quilt.

I had to get a photo with some of my blooms - Rudbeckia.

The colors  are so soft in these prints with only one darker color being the teal and one darker pink. I love the pop of the yellow daisy print. I  didn't have quite enough fabric from my fat quarter bundle to give me  enough fabric for all my pieces, so I did have to add in a fat quarter of a white print on white cotton to fill out the rest. My white ended up being a bit brighter  than the rest of the fabrics out in the sunlight. Indoors they were not as  different.

I  tried my best to not put the same prints  together  and touching on my quilt top -but failed in a few areas.

I really love how this quilt top turned out and can't wait to finish it.

I plan to use the remaining panels and some scraps with a  coordinating fabric from my stash for the backing and will probably do a solid color for the binding.

  1. Aimee this is so special. I love the fussy cuts from the panel gently placed amidst your Churndash blocks. How beautiful is Blossom and Grow amidst your outdoor floral and fauna. Thank you for this idea..

    1. I used this pattern for the 18" blocks as my base pattern. I just cut 3.5" squares for the rectangle pieces to make it scrappy. http://delawarequilts.com/BOMs/ChurnDash/index.html
