I was a pattern tester for Andrea Haverinen for her Linking Lives Quilt Pattern. I was drawn to the fun design and how it looked a bit like links in a chain and that they connected to one another, but didn't. There was something about the movement of the design across and up the quilt top that attracted me to it.
When I read through the pattern I was surprised to see that it was made entirely of flying geese and rectangles. It looked way more complicated to my eyes.
I finished this quilt top at the peak of Bluebonnet Season here in Texas and couldn't resist taking photos of my completed top in the field of these wildflowers.
Andrea named the pattern Linking Lives as she found quilting as a way to find connection with others she "met" online. I guess that it's fitting that my Linking Lives Quilt contains fabrics that were given to me by one of my sewing friends. Sharon (Sweet Mama Life) gave me the beautiful print at the bottom of my quilt. It's a gorgeous linen that she tells me she made a skirt from.

This pattern was so fun to make and was so easy! I was surprised when I saw how simple it really was. If you can make flying geese - using the 4 at a time method and cut fairly accurate rectangles, then you can make this quilt!
