Zenith & Quasar Sketchy Mushrooms

I'm busy packing to move, but needed to show you another great print at Preorder at Zenith & Quasar. This is Sketchy Mushrooms.

I made the Itch to Stitch Isidro Top with my yard of Sketchy Mushrooms.

It goes perfectly with my Zenith & Quasar Brown Heavy Supplex Designer Stitch Harper Pants.

There are a lot of little details in this print that are so hard to see in photos. The mushrooms are sketches with handwriting. I really love the gathered neckline of the Isidro Top. I did a rolled hem on my sleeves and the shirt hem.

The background is almost white. It's not quite cream, but has a slight tint to it. The mushrooms are shades of brown with some reddish shades as well.

Preorder closes June 29th! See all the prints and order at https://www.zenithandquasar.com/product-category/preorder-r34-reprints/

Sew Big Fabrics Black Tie Birds

The current Round at Sew Big Fabrics is Black Tie Birds. This round is really cool. If you love birds and subtle prints, this round is probably for you.

I'll start by showing you the front of my Sinclair Patterns Bianca Shrug that I made. The Black Tie Burlap is an amazing coordinate. It would make an amazing cardigan, dress, top, leggings - you name it - all by itself.

I was sent the Caged Birds panel. I normally don't do anything "risky" when I get strike offs, but decided to take a risk with this panel and I LOVE how it came out!

I used part of the Caged Birds panel for one sleeve. I wanted the birds to fly out of that cage and go down my arm. And I think I did pretty darn good!

I was seriously terrified as I cut,  thinking I would botch it completely by cutting the wrong sleeve or just misjudging that it was all going to fit on the Caged Birds panel.

I cut my back bodice piece first. I wanted the chain from the cage to end right at top of the piece and I placed my pattern piece as far to the left on the panel as I could.

Here's a closeup of the Caged Birds panel. It's hard to see, but the key, chain, and a few birds are a faux silvery glitter. You can see the pattern of the Black Tie Burlap here as it is also the background on the Caged Birds panel.

I'm smiling so big because of how happy I am I pulled this off!

I hope everyone I know doesn't get tired of seeing me wear this shrug, because I plan to wear it all the time!

The Black Tie Birds Preorder closes on September 24th. Below you can see the other prints and panels being offered. All prints and panels are offered on cotton lycra (what I sewed), french terry, double brushed poly, and cotton woven.

No automatic alt text available.

So - when I completed my Bianca Shrug, I thought I was late to post what I made. The strike off came toward the end of the week, my mom came to visit, and then I frantically sewed. Then it was pouring rain a few days straight so I decided to take my photos regardless. I don't like ending up on the naughty list! And here's what I got. Enjoy laughing at me.

Elephant House Fabrics What's Poppin'

This will be my last blog post for Elephant House Fabrics. I love their fabrics, but I've elected to leave their tester group as I am going to be out of service for a little while with surgery on my elbow.

The prints in the What's Poppin' round are gorgeous! If you haven't guessed, this round is Mary Poppins inspired. I absolutely love both of the tops I made for this round.

First I'll show you my PG rated sew. If you are easily offended, then I suggest going no further.

The City Border is GORGEOUS! It comes in cotton lycra, bamboo lycra, and cotton woven.   This is the cotton woven shown below.

This is a nice weight cotton. It's comparable to a high quality quilting cotton as it has a super soft yet incredibly smooth surface. It has just a little bit of drape. It's not ideal for this Itch to Stitch Chirripo Top, but I'm very happy with my top.

The City Border is on a blue striped background and the stripes become more apparent with an ombre like feature that goes along the yard.

The border runs from selvedge to selvedge. The border print will come as a panel.

The 1 yard of City Border was enough for my top, but I did have to use another fabric to line my yoke.

I love the side panels on this top and love how I was able to show off the lighter stripes from the print on the side panels and yoke.

Naughtiness follows...

I am so in love with this tank! This is a FREE pattern from Life Sew Savory. Get it HERE.

This is the second time I've made this pattern and love it a little more each time. This Tea Floral is just so beautiful. I'm seriously considering buying more. For fellow spoonies - there are some small but beautiful silver spoons in the print. If you don't know what I'm talking about - read THIS.

My dear friend Sharon at Sweet Mama Life gave me this lace and it is so soft and was perfect for this tank. I plan to wear this as pajamas.

But this Swears Panel - well, it pretty much says it all. Well, at least about how I feel about autoimmune diseases.

I've worn this tank to bed twice and neither my husband or son have said a word about what it says. I have a feeling they haven't paid close enough attention.

Here's a look at all the beautiful prints and panels available in the What's Poppin' preorder.
