Nature's Fabrics Rainbow Sale

Nature's Fabrics is having a sale on all rainbow fabrics! They are currently 15% off through December 21st. When I saw this Rainbow Tie Dye, I knew I needed it to make my mother a top. Good thing she and I are close to the same size - I got to wear it first.

The Rainbow Tie Dye is a lightweight polyester jersey. It is 180 gsm which is perfect for a flowy top.

I made the Love Notions Tidal Top with my Rainbow Tie Dye fabric.

I had the strawberry cotton rib knit from Nature's Fabric that matched the Rainbow Tie Dye perfectly. I used it not only for the neckband, but to also do a small band on the sleeves and to add a piping detail to the front bodice seams.

The Tidal Top has a center back seam which allows you to adjust the pattern for a sway back - which I have. I did my best to stripe match as perfectly as possible.

I probably could have scooped out another 0.5" for my swayback, but it's pretty darn close.

This is the first time I have added a piping detail to the Tidal Top and I really love it. I had to do some pattern finagling to get the stripes to match up on that front bodice seam.

The piping was also done to break up the stripes just enough that you don't notice where they don't match up perfectly. Think of it as an optical illusion.

I'm wearing my mother's Tidal Top with Greenstyle Creations Chelsea Pants.

I can't wait to give my mom this top. I think she's going to love the Rainbow Tie Dye so much. She loves when I make her tops - especially with tie-dye prints.

Here's a closer look at the Rainbow Tie Dye fabric. Each stripe is two tones and each color is separated by a grey stripe.

Be Proud! Charity Auction

The Be Proud! Charity Auction will be November 16 - 18. The event is held on Facebook HERE! This is my second year to participate. All proceeds from items being auctioned, minus PayPal fees and shipping fees, will be donated directly to one of the following charities.

Point of Pride - https://www.facebook.com/pointofpride/ Point of Pride works to support trans youth and adults who otherwise lack access through gender-affirming programs that empower them to live more authentically. Point of Pride is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Eugene, Oregon that serves the international transgender community. They are entirely volunteer-operated.
The Trevor Project - https://www.facebook.com/TheTrevorProject/Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24.
I received fabric from two amazing Fabric Groups to sew and donate my items to the auction.

First, I want to show you what I made for Sew Big Fabrics.

This is the Elle Puls Bethouia. It's a very unique raglan and I feel like raglans are a pretty unisex clothing item. This one has straight sides - so no curvieness for the female figure.

This is the Gender Fluid Adult panel and the coordinating print Heart Flags (half scale). I added a few inches to  the length of this top.

I just love the back of the Bethouia. It adds an interesting element to an otherwise plain back.

I made a straight european size 40 for the auction. I normally grade this pattern out for my hips, but I'm kinda liking it fitted in my hips.

Here's a closer view of the back.

I used the scraps to make a pair of womens undies.

I used the child sized gender fluid panel for the back of the undies.

Here's a look at the prints and panels that are being offered at Sew Big Fabrics. The Preorder is open from November 12 - 24th.

Fabric Anthropology also sent me fabric. Their preorder is open November 10 - 24.

I made the Love Notions Tidal Top and Dress for the All for Love panel. This was a kids sized panel.

I love the relaxed fit of the Tidal Top and how the back piece wraps around to the front.

The back is a soft and stretchy poly spandex from Zenith and Quasar.

I also received a Sit With Us kids panel. I thought it was perfect for the Shwin Designs Carolina Tee. I used watercolor stripes from Sew Big Fabrics for the bands.

Tha back and sleeves of this top are made with sweater knit that's very stretchy. This will allow a larger size range to fit it.

This top also has a back that wraps around to the front.

Next I made two Halla Patterns Autumn Sweaters in the cocoon cardigan version .  For this first one, I used a safety pin print cotton lycra for the front. A safety pin on your clothing is to indicate that you are "safe". As in you are non-judgemental and someone a person can be "safe with".

I used the "May Not Be the Same" panel for the back. It is gorgeous and sends a powerful message.

This cocoon cardigan is a size 10/12 grade to 14/16 hips. But as it is a cardigan with dolman sleeves, it can accomodate bigger or smaller sizes.

I also used the Pride Splosion Stripe for a Halla Cocoon Cardigan.

I'm seriously thinking about bidding on it so I can keep this one.

I even did my best to stripe match!

I used a rib knit for the sleeves and bands of both cardigans.
