It's time for a new round of science themed prints at Zenith & Quasar. For April the round is Astronomy. Lilly Himrod is offering a wide variety of prints that range from Hubble telescope images to retro cosmic kids. There is something for everyone. Plus the base fabric is so amazingly soft, you will love to wear them.
The Astronomy Round is open for preorders April 1 - 15th. Pleace your preorder at ZenithandQuasar.com. The prints are $20/yard and panels are $5 for kids and $11 for Adults. The Adult panels are approximately 30" x 36" with the graphic being 8" by 12". The image size works for a wide range of sizes.
Lilly is offering 8 panels this round that are perfect for making shirts without any color blocking. The panels are NASA posters from a series named "Visions of the Future" The posters are downloadable and can be printed to hang, but I think I'd rather wear them - they are so pretty and really cool. See the entire line up of posters at http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/visions-of-the-future/
I got the Earth panel. When I got it, I held it as I surveyed the shelves of my sewing room trying to find the perfect coordinate. I chose my parrot rock print I had printed on Modern Jersey at Spoonflower. The greens, blues, and browns went with this panel so perfectly. I love how this top came out and will be wearing it all the time. The pattern I used is the Koerbs Brothers Stitch Design Hello Hi Lo top. I seriously love the fit of it and have probably made way too many recently.
Lilly also sent me the Cosmic Craters print to make into leggings. Because - who doesn't want lunar surface legs? I used the Spit up and Stilettos Matilda Leggings pattern to make these. I like the looser lower leg on these.
I made a Greenstyle creations Laurel tunic with the heathered charcoal brushed poly jersey from Zenith & Quasar. It goes pretty good with my moon leggings, but I think I'll make one in black to wear with them instead.
